Nick Pinkney

I picked up the windsurfing bug in 1990 on a friends old windglider, the beast was so heavy I needed a friend to help carry it! Growing up on the coast in Cornwall meant a fair bit of sailing dinghies, wakeboarding and surfing interrupted my windsurfing, but whenever there was a real breeze I was rigging up for a windsurf. Since then I have been windsurfing whenever I can at Minster or Camber. Seeing fellow Minster sailors competing at Marazion in 2007, gave me a real enthusiasm to compete and I have taken the competitive plunge for 2008. It’s been a great decision with my first event at Minster and then onto Hove, both great weekends. I’m stoked to be a Team Minster rider and looking forward to gaining as much racing experience and improving my sailing.

Big thanks to Ricky Wooding and Minster Windsurf Academy for all the help and encouragement. All the work the Academy does in nurturing and encouraging those new to the sport is fantastic, and it’s great to be a part of the team.
